Elements of fastening of a cowl are shown on fig. 16–9.
Removal
Open a cowl and enclose pure rags under its corners to protect a paint and varnish covering of the car at cowl removal.
Disconnect a hose from a nozzle of a washer and electric sockets. Adhere to a hose and an electric socket a thin long cord. Extend from a cowl electroconducting and a hose, untie from them a cord, leave it in a cowl. Further the cord is required for installation in an electroconducting and hose cowl.
Using a marker, note position of hinges on a cowl.
Ask the assistant to support a cowl in open position and, using a screw-driver edge, disconnect from a cowl газонаполненную a rack. If it is necessary to remove газонаполненную a rack of a cowl from the car, similarly remove the bottom part of a support.
If the new pneumatic support for recycling it is necessary to remove gas from an old support is established. For this purpose fix support in a vice for site Х shown on fig. 16–10. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the left and right hinges of a cowl and, being careful, remove a cowl.
Check up a condition of hinges of a cowl on presence backlash and deterioration, if necessary replace them.
Installation
With two assistants establish a cowl and screw in by hand bolts of fastening of hinges of a cowl. Level cowl hinges according to earlier made labels and tighten bolts of fastening of a cowl.
Fix газонаполненные racks on a cowl for what with force press an emphasis before its fixing on the spherical hinge of a cowl.
Adhere to a cord an electric socket and a hose of a washer and involve them in a cowl. Put on a hose nozzles of a washer of a windscreen.
Adjustment of position of a cowl
Close a cowl and adjust height of its back part concerning the next elements of a body. The height is regulated at the expense of the extended apertures under bolts of fastening 2 (fig. 16–9 see) loops to a cowl. For adjustment loosen the bolts, change relative position of a loop of a cowl in relation to a cowl and tighten bolts.
Close a cowl and check up its position concerning adjacent surfaces. At the closed cowl the backlash on its perimetre should be identical from different directions and make 3,5 mm. For adjustment loosen the bolts of 3 fastenings of loops of a cowl to a body and, moving a cowl, adjust its position. After adjustment tighten bolts of fastening of loops of a cowl.
For adjustment of a forward part of a cowl on height loosen the a nut 15 (fig. 16–9 see). Fastenings a pin 12 locks also rotate about the corresponding party of a pin of the lock then tighten a nut.
In case of unreliable lock-out of a cowl by the lock loosen the a nut of 15 fastenings of a pin 12 locks and, displacing a pin of the lock at the expense of the increased aperture in a cowl, achieve it соосности with a nest of the lock of a cowl. Tighten a nut of fastening of a pin of the lock of a cowl.
