24.28. The cylinder of the lock of ignitionRemoval
Establish wheels of the car for movement directly forward.
On cars with an automatic transmission disconnect a cable from the lock of the lever of the selector, turn a key in the lock of ignition and remove a cable.
Move the selector lever to position P.
Turn a key in the ignition lock in position In (Ignition on) (fig. 18–53).

Remove the lever of 1 lock of ignition and disconnect a cable 2, having pulled it from the case of the lock of ignition.
For performance of following operations on removal of the cylinder of the lock of ignition the ignition key with the flat handle (without illumination or the remote control transmitter) is required.
Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in position Ignition on, the aperture in an end face of the cylinder of the lock of ignition should be thus visible.

Insert a steel core in diameter about 1,5 mm into an aperture against the stop and take out the cylinder from the case of the lock of ignition (fig. 18–54).
Installation
Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in position Ignition on. Insert a steel core in diameter about 1,5 mm against the stop into an aperture and establish the cylinder in the case of the lock of ignition.
Press against the stop the cylinder of the lock with a key.
Take out a steel core and press the cylinder of the lock before its fixing by a latch.
