The list of controls and control devices depends on execution of the car or is established by request.

Control devices
1 temperature of a cooling liquid. The index works at the included ignition. At ignition inclusion the control lamp blinks some seconds.
If the arrow is in the left area of a scale, it is necessary to avoid increase of frequency of rotation and engine loading.
At car movement in normal conditions of the marksman should be in an average zone of a scale.
At the big loading on the engine and a heat of external air probably from time to time an arrow finding in the right area of a scale. It should not cause alarm until the lamp will start to blink.
If during movement the control lamp of an overheat of a cooling liquid starts to blink, it is necessary to look first of all, what temperature the index of temperature of a cooling liquid shows.
If the arrow is in a zone of normal working temperature, it is necessary to add as soon as possible a cooling liquid in cooling system.
If the arrow is in the right zone of a scale – the temperature of a cooling liquid is too high. It is necessary to stop the car, to switch off the engine and to establish the reason of rise in temperature of a cooling liquid.
2 – a tachometre and a digital watch. The arrow of a tachometre should not enter into a red zone of a scale at all.
Timely switching on higher transfer allows to save fuel and reduces engine and transmission noise!
To pass to lower transfer follows as it is possible later, shortly before the moment of occurrence of jerks in engine work.
During the period обкатки it is necessary to avoid work of the engine with high frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft.
3 – a speedometer with a field of indication of the counter of a way (одометр) with the service-indicator. The top counter shows the general distance passed by the car, bottom – daily run.

Service-indicator
After inclusion of ignition in the field of indication in a blinking mode for some seconds there is an information on carrying out of necessary service.
If service is not required, in the field of indication there is symbol In0 which dies away at engine start-up.
If there comes time for service, in the field of indication during 60 with the ambassador of start-up of the engine to be highlighted the message which should appear for 1000 km of run or for 10 days.
Probably высвечивание following messages:
• OEL – service of replacement of oil;
• l – the basic service;
• lI – additional service.
In the presence of an error in the field of indication it is highlighted dEF.

4 – the index of a stock of fuel. The index works at the included ignition.
Capacity of a fuel tank of the car makes about 80–90 l.
If the index has reached a red zone of a reserve stock of fuel and the precautionary lamp burns, it means that remains about 12 l of fuel.
5 – button "Check". If some times quickly to press button "Check" at the included ignition, there are corresponding symbols. Check can be spent at the working engine or at speed of movement to 5 km/h.
In the presence of gross infringements (a red symbol) it is not recommended to spend the further check.
6 – the button of installation of a digital watch. It is intended for time installation on hours.
At installation of hours press the left button h. If the button to keep pressed more than 5 with, change of figures occurs to the increased speed.
At installation of minutes press the right button min. If the button to keep pressed more than 5 with, change of figures occurs to the increased speed.
Through 15 with the ambassador release buttons hours work in a normal mode.
7 – control lamps
8 – the digital display. Indication of external temperature. Value of external temperature appears on the display at the included ignition, on cars with an automatic transmission – after moving of the lever of the selector.
If on the display it is highlighted F, means, the temperature of external air makes +5 …–5 C, the icing is possible.
9 – buttons of adjustment of intensity of illumination of the panel of devices. Button pressing + and – it is possible to regulate intensity of illumination of the panel of devices at the included external illumination.
Intensity of illumination of a combination of devices is regulated automatically depending on the general light exposure.
If necessary the display can be disconnected pressing of button Reset of the onboard computer and again to include repeated pressing the button.
10 – a key of dump of indications одометра (the counter of daily run). By pressing the button of 000,0 indications of the daily allowance одометра are established on 0.
Control lamps
The arrangement of control lamps in a combination of devices depends on model of the car and engine execution.
The turn index. The control lamp lights up blinking light at inclusion of the left or right index of turn, synchronously with it. If one of lamps of indexes of turn has fused, the control lamp blinks with the doubled frequency (except for movement with the trailer).
Discharge of the storage battery. The control lamp lights up at ignition inclusion, after engine start-up – dies away. The generator drive is carried out by means of durable wedge a belt.
If during movement the control lamp lights up, it is necessary to stop, switch off the engine and to check up a condition wedge a belt.
If a belt tension ослабло or it is broken off, to continue movement it is impossible – the pump of system of cooling of the engine is not put in action. If necessary replace a belt.
If the control lamp burns, and a belt of a drive of the pump of system of cooling in good repair, it is possible to continue movement to the nearest service enterprise Volkswagen.
For reduction of a discharge of the storage battery it is necessary to switch off all minor consumers of the electric power.
Signalling device of an open door. If the door is not closed, the control lamp blinks, after door closing – dies away.
Lay brake. At the included lay brake and ignition the control lamp burns. It should go out, when the lay brake is switched off.
Antiblocking system (ABS). The control lamp warns about malfunction in antiblocking and противобуксовочной systems with притормаживанием a revolving wheel.
The control lamp lights up for some seconds after inclusion of ignition or during start-up of the engine and dies away after the termination of process of automatic check of working capacity of system.
If the control lamp does not light up in some seconds after ignition inclusion, does not die away or lights up during movement ABS it is not serviceable.
In the presence of malfunction in system probably following:
– If the control lamp of antiblocking system burns during movement, the working brake system of the car functions without antiblocking system. It is necessary to address as soon as possible in service enterprise Volkswagen;
– If the control lamp of antiblocking system burns together with a control lamp of brake system, it means that both systems are faulty.
The prevention
At malfunctions in antiblocking and brake systems about which both control lamps signal, at braking probably premature blocking of back wheels. In this case it is necessary to address urgently in the service enterprise.
The system of blocking of differential (EDS) with electronic control works together with АBS. In malfunction in EDS specifies burning of control lamp ABS. Try to address as soon as possible in the service enterprise.
The turn index at movement with the trailer. The control lamp blinks together with turn indexes on the car and the trailer. In case on the car or the trailer one of lamps of indexes of turn has failed, the control lamp does not blink.
External illumination. The control lamp burns at inclusion of external illumination and ignition.
CAT – каталитический neutralizer (only for cars with engines V8). The control lamp blinks at the functional control after inclusion of ignition and dies away after engine warming up.
If the control lamp lights up during movement, means, there was a danger of an overheat of neutralizer because of infringements in engine work. It is necessary to stop the car and to cool the engine.
AIRBAG – system of pillows of safety. After ignition inclusion the control lamp burns approximately 3 with. On cars with the disconnected pillow for the forward passenger the control lamp blinks approximately 12 with.
If the lamp does not die away or lights up during movement, the system of pillows of safety is faulty. Such system should be checked up immediately in the service enterprise.
Headlight of headlights. The control lamp burns at the included headlight of headlights and at giving of a light signal.
Electronic anticreeping system. At ignition inclusion the ignition key code is automatically requested. Comparison of the data proves to be true short-term inclusion of a control lamp. In case not coded key is used, the control lamp starts to blink with short breaks – it is impossible to take advantage of the car.
ASR – противобуксовочная system with reduction of a twisting moment of the engine. The control lamp lights up at inclusion of ignition and should go out approximately through 2 with. The lamp blinks at movement during operation противобуксовочной systems. At switched off противобуксовочной systems or at infringement in its work the control lamp burns constantly. As противобуксовочная the system works together with antiblocking system of brakes and противобуксовочной system with притормаживанием a revolving wheel, at infringements in work of antiblocking system (ABS) the control lamp противобуксовочной systems (ASR) also burns.
AUTO–Check
The system of the automatic control at the included ignition and at movement constantly supervises performance of certain functions and a condition of separate components of the car.
About infringement in work and necessity of carrying out of repair or maintenance service lets know a sound signal and red or yellow, depending on degree of importance of malfunction or repair, the light pictogramme in a combination of devices.
On minor malfunction there are instructions only when malfunction of vital importance is eliminated.
Besides, for acknowledgement of red or yellow light pictogrammes on the display there is a message text.
The text of the message and corresponding instructions for the driver are resulted on one of five foreign languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese (depending on the country for which let out the given car).
Malfunctions of vital importance (red pictogrammes)
Malfunctions of brake system.
Insufficient level or overheat of a cooling liquid in cooling system.
Emergency fall pressure of oil in greasing system.
At infringement occurrence in certain systems and devices after ignition inclusion there is a pictogramme. Simultaneously works a corresponding threefold sound signal.
Vital importance pictogrammes warn about danger, therefore it is necessary to stop, switch off the engine, to eliminate malfunction, and if necessary it is necessary to address for the qualified technical help.
If there were at once some malfunctions of vital importance, pictogrammes appear one for another approximately on 2 with everyone. Pictogrammes blink until malfunction will be eliminated.
Malfunctions of minor importance (yellow pictogrammes)
Infringement in work of lamps of stoplights.
The lamp of a passing light or lamp of a back lantern has fused.
It is inadmissible brake overlays are worn out.
Insufficient level of a liquid in a tank стеклоомывателей.
The minimum stock of fuel in a fuel tank.
Too low or too a high voltage of the storage battery.
The prevention of excess of speed.
At occurrence of the yellow pictogramme one sound signal sounds. Occurrence of pictogrammes means the prevention. It is necessary to react to them quickly whenever possible. If it is some preventions, pictogrammes appear one for another approximately on 2 with everyone.
Instructions for the driver. At a blinking of a symbol of vital importance the driver can deduce the message text on the display. For example: SOFQRT MOTOR ADSTELLEN, OLSTAND PRUFEN (Switch off the engine, check up oil level).
For this purpose it is necessary to press button Check. The text message will be switched through 5 with the ambassador release buttons.
Одометр and a digital watch. At the included ignition it is necessary to press button Check, thus одометр and a digital watch will join on 15 with.
Operation of cars with a mechanical transmission
After ignition inclusion it is necessary to press a brake pedal.
In the absence of malfunctions at first there is a symbol BREMSLICHT ("stoplight") which after pressing of a pedal of a brake should go out.
If the functions checked up by system Check in norm for some seconds the inscription is highlighted APPRX.
If there are malfunctions they are displayed after inclusion of ignition and the corresponding sound signal is given.
At an error of a priority 2 there are alternately symbols BREMSLICHT ("stoplight") and errors. After pressing a brake pedal the display there is only an error symbol.
If on the display does not appear neither inscription ОК, nor the error notice, is not present necessity to check system Check.
Operation of cars with an automatic transmission
After ignition inclusion in position of the lever of selector R and N there are instructions BEIM EINLEGEN EINER FAHRSTUFE IM STAND FUSSBREMSE BETATIGEN (At moving of the lever of the selector press a brake pedal).
At moving of the lever of the selector (position R, D etc.) the instructions for the driver are cancelled.
The indicator
If the functions checked up by system Check in norm for some seconds the inscription is highlighted APPRX.
If there are one or several malfunctions, the instructions for the driver disappear approximately through 15 with the ambassador of start-up of the engine, and symbols of infringements are highlighted on the display.
The prevention of excess of speed
In memory speed which the car should not exceed is written down. If speed exceeds on 10 km/h entered into memory, the signal sounds and on the display there is a warning symbol of km/h.
The warning symbol dies away, if speed of movement decreases to a preset value and if speed of movement raises on 40 km/h no more than 30 with.
Storing of speed
The indicator of Malfunction of minor importance blinks.
Press quickly button Check during the moment when the speedometer shows demanded speed. The speed written down in memory remains before the following record.
Malfunctions at car operation
The system of the automatic control constantly watches performance of certain functions and a condition of separate components of the car. To malfunctions in work and necessity of carrying out of repair testify a sound signal and depending on degree of importance of malfunction a symbol in a combination of devices.
Brake system. The symbol appears at insufficient level of a brake liquid. It is necessary to stop the car and to check up level of a brake liquid.
If level in a tank has fallen below mark MIN, it is necessary to proceed with the raised care to the nearest service enterprise.
At malfunction in ABS regulation of brake effort of back brake mechanisms stops, therefore there is a propensity of brake mechanisms to earlier blocking of back wheels.
Preventions
If level of a brake liquid in a tank too low, it is necessary to find immediately the nearest service enterprise for check of working brake system. During movement in the service enterprise it is necessary to press more strongly a brake pedal at braking and to consider possibility of increase in a brake way and a pedal free wheeling.
If level of a brake liquid in norm, can be broken normal work ABS. In this case at braking there is a danger of early blocking of back wheels. Under certain circumstances it can lead to failures of back brake mechanisms.
It is necessary to proceed immediately with the raised care in the nearest service enterprise for malfunction elimination.
Temperature of a cooling liquid / level of a cooling liquid. If during movement the symbol lights up or blinks, excessive rise in temperature or too low level of a cooling liquid are possible.
It is necessary to stop, switch off the engine and to check up level of a cooling liquid, if necessary to finish it to the normal.
If level of a cooling liquid in norm, infringement in work of system of cooling can be caused malfunction of the fan. Check up a safety lock of the fan and if necessary replace it.
If the control lamp does not die away, and level of a cooling liquid normal and a fan safety lock is serviceable, it is necessary to stop movement – the qualified help is necessary.
If the reason is covered in malfunction of the fan provided that level of a cooling liquid in norm, and a symbol on the display has disappeared, it is possible to continue movement to the nearest service enterprise Audi. To use for cooling of a liquid a stream of counter air, whenever possible do not suppose engine work idling and move on low speed.
Pressure of oil in the engine. If at movement there is a symbol, it is necessary to stop, switch off the engine, to check up oil level in the engine and if necessary to finish it to the normal.
If the symbol blinks in spite of the fact that oil level in the engine in norm, to continue movement it is impossible. Engine work even idling is not supposed – the qualified help is necessary.
Infringement in work of lamps of brake system (lamps of stoplights do not burn). Not burning or only flashing lamps of stoplights can be a consequence of following defects:
– Have fused lamps of stoplights;
– Unreliable contact of a lamp in a cartridge;
– The electric feed circuit of lamps is broken;
– The stoplight switch is faulty.
Infringement in work of lamps of a passing light and a back lantern. Infringement can be caused following defects:
– Have fused lamps накаливания;
– Lamp contact in a cartridge is unreliable;
– The electric feed circuit of lamps is broken.
Excessive deterioration of brake overlays. It is necessary to address in service enterprise Audi for check of a condition of brake overlays.
As the index of deterioration of brake overlays signals about deterioration of overlays only forward brake mechanisms, it is recommended to check up simultaneously with replacement of overlays of forward brake mechanisms a condition of overlays of back brake mechanisms.
Liquid for стеклоомывателей. The symbol appears at insufficient level of a liquid for стеклоомывателей in a tank.
It is necessary to add a liquid for washers of a windscreen and headlights.
The minimum stock of fuel. It is necessary to fill the car with fuel.
Pressure of the storage battery too low or too high. It is necessary to address in service enterprise Audi for condition check (and tension) semi wedge a belt, a regulator of pressure and the storage battery.
The prevention of excess of speed. If the set speed is exceeded, it is necessary to reduce speed.
