1.13. Controls, devices and the equipmentNotes
The list of controls and control devices depends on execution of the car or is established by request.
To established the manufacturer on cars to onboard navigating system applies a management on its use.

Control devices
1 temperature of a cooling liquid. The index works at the included ignition. At ignition inclusion the control lamp blinks some seconds.
If the arrow is in the left area of a scale, it is necessary to avoid increase of frequency of rotation and engine loading.
At car movement in normal conditions of the marksman should be in an average zone of a scale.
At the big loading on the engine and a heat of external air probably from time to time an arrow finding in the right area of a scale. It should not cause alarm until the lamp will start to blink.
If during movement the control lamp of an overheat of a cooling liquid starts to blink, it is necessary to look first of all, what temperature the index of temperature of a cooling liquid shows.
If the arrow is in a zone of normal working temperature, it is necessary to add as soon as possible a cooling liquid in cooling system.
If the arrow is in the right zone of a scale – the temperature of a cooling liquid is too high. It is necessary to stop the car, to switch off the engine and to establish the reason of rise in temperature of a cooling liquid.
2 – a tachometre and a digital watch. The arrow of a tachometre should not enter into a red zone of a scale at all.
Timely switching on higher transfer allows to save fuel and reduces engine and transmission noise!
To pass to lower transfer follows as it is possible later, shortly before the moment of occurrence of jerks in engine work.
During the period обкатки it is necessary to avoid work of the engine with high frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft.
3 – a speedometer with a field of indication of the counter of a way (одометр) with the service-indicator. The top counter shows the general distance passed by the car, bottom – daily run.

Service-indicator
After inclusion of ignition in the field of indication in a blinking mode for some seconds there is an information on carrying out of necessary service.
If service is not required, in the field of indication there is symbol In0 which dies away at engine start-up.
If there comes time for service, in the field of indication during 60 with the ambassador of start-up of the engine to be highlighted the message which should appear for 1000 km of run or for 10 days.
Probably высвечивание following messages:
• OEL – service of replacement of oil;
• l – the basic service;
• lI – additional service.
In the presence of an error in the field of indication it is highlighted dEF.

4 – the index of a stock of fuel. The index works at the included ignition.
Capacity of a fuel tank of the car makes about 80–90 l.
If the index has reached a red zone of a reserve stock of fuel and the precautionary lamp burns, it means that remains about 12 l of fuel.
5 – button "Check". If some times quickly to press button "Check" at the included ignition, there are corresponding symbols. Check can be spent at the working engine or at speed of movement to 5 km/h.
In the presence of gross infringements (a red symbol) it is not recommended to spend the further check.
6 – the button of installation of a digital watch. It is intended for time installation on hours.
At installation of hours press the left button h. If the button to keep pressed more than 5 with, change of figures occurs to the increased speed.
At installation of minutes press the right button min. If the button to keep pressed more than 5 with, change of figures occurs to the increased speed.
Through 15 with the ambassador release buttons hours work in a normal mode.
7 – control lamps
8 – the digital display. Indication of external temperature. Value of external temperature appears on the display at the included ignition, on cars with an automatic transmission – after moving of the lever of the selector.
If on the display it is highlighted F, means, the temperature of external air makes +5 …–5 C, the icing is possible.
9 – buttons of adjustment of intensity of illumination of the panel of devices. Button pressing + and – it is possible to regulate intensity of illumination of the panel of devices at the included external illumination.
Intensity of illumination of a combination of devices is regulated automatically depending on the general light exposure.
If necessary the display can be disconnected pressing of button Reset of the onboard computer and again to include repeated pressing the button.
10 – a key of dump of indications одометра (the counter of daily run). By pressing the button of 000,0 indications of the daily allowance одометра are established on 0.
Control lamps
The arrangement of control lamps in a combination of devices depends on model of the car and engine execution.
The turn index. The control lamp lights up blinking light at inclusion of the left or right index of turn, synchronously with it. If one of lamps of indexes of turn has fused, the control lamp blinks with the doubled frequency (except for movement with the trailer).
Discharge of the storage battery. The control lamp lights up at ignition inclusion, after engine start-up – dies away. The generator drive is carried out by means of durable wedge a belt.
If during movement the control lamp lights up, it is necessary to stop, switch off the engine and to check up a condition wedge a belt.
If a belt tension ослабло or it is broken off, to continue movement it is impossible – the pump of system of cooling of the engine is not put in action. If necessary replace a belt.
If the control lamp burns, and a belt of a drive of the pump of system of cooling in good repair, it is possible to continue movement to the nearest service enterprise Volkswagen.
For reduction of a discharge of the storage battery it is necessary to switch off all minor consumers of the electric power.
Signalling device of an open door. If the door is not closed, the control lamp blinks, after door closing – dies away.
Lay brake. At the included lay brake and ignition the control lamp burns. It should go out, when the lay brake is switched off.
Antiblocking system (ABS). The control lamp warns about malfunction in antiblocking and противобуксовочной systems with притормаживанием a revolving wheel.
The control lamp lights up for some seconds after inclusion of ignition or during start-up of the engine and dies away after the termination of process of automatic check of working capacity of system.
If the control lamp does not light up in some seconds after ignition inclusion, does not die away or lights up during movement ABS it is not serviceable.
In the presence of malfunction in system probably following:
– If the control lamp of antiblocking system burns during movement, the working brake system of the car functions without antiblocking system. It is necessary to address as soon as possible in service enterprise Volkswagen;
– If the control lamp of antiblocking system burns together with a control lamp of brake system, it means that both systems are faulty.
The prevention
At malfunctions in antiblocking and brake systems about which both control lamps signal, at braking probably premature blocking of back wheels. In this case it is necessary to address urgently in the service enterprise.
The system of blocking of differential (EDS) with electronic control works together with АBS. In malfunction in EDS specifies burning of control lamp ABS. Try to address as soon as possible in the service enterprise.
The turn index at movement with the trailer. The control lamp blinks together with turn indexes on the car and the trailer. In case on the car or the trailer one of lamps of indexes of turn has failed, the control lamp does not blink.
External illumination. The control lamp burns at inclusion of external illumination and ignition.
CAT – каталитический neutralizer (only for cars with engines V8). The control lamp blinks at the functional control after inclusion of ignition and dies away after engine warming up.
If the control lamp lights up during movement, means, there was a danger of an overheat of neutralizer because of infringements in engine work. It is necessary to stop the car and to cool the engine.
AIRBAG – system of pillows of safety. After ignition inclusion the control lamp burns approximately 3 with. On cars with the disconnected pillow for the forward passenger the control lamp blinks approximately 12 with.
If the lamp does not die away or lights up during movement, the system of pillows of safety is faulty. Such system should be checked up immediately in the service enterprise.
Headlight of headlights. The control lamp burns at the included headlight of headlights and at giving of a light signal.
Electronic anticreeping system. At ignition inclusion the ignition key code is automatically requested. Comparison of the data |
