13.18. A radiatorRemoval
Preventions
The merged cooling liquid is necessary for collecting and utilising.
At opening of a cover of a broad tank on the hot engine it is necessary to be careful, as leaving steams can lead to strong burns. For this purpose close a cover of a broad tank a thick layer of a fabric and slowly unscrew a cover before occurrence of a hissing sound. After the hissing termination slowly unscrew and uncover a broad tank.
Establish under the engine reception pallet VAG 1306 for gathering of a cooling liquid.
Open a cover of a broad tank.

Loosen the a collar 2 (fig. 7–31), remove a hose and merge cooling liquid.
In the left bottom part of a radiator disconnect an electric socket of 1 temperature-sensitive element of inclusion of the fan.

Unscrew bolts 1 and 2 (fig. 7–35) heat exchanger fastenings.
Unscrew a tube of system of cooling of system of the amplifier of a steering and, without disconnecting, move it aside.
Unscrew two nuts in the bottom part of the radiator, shown by arrows on fig. 7–35.
Remove the heat exchanger from an arm and move it aside.
Reject a radiator and take it upwards from a motor compartment.
Check
If the radiator acted in film in connection with throughput reduction, wash out its stream of water in two directions and blow outside compressed air.
If the radiator proceeds, do not try to make or solder a leaking place as plastic details of a radiator will be thus damaged.
The insignificant leak of a radiator can be eliminated by means of hermetic.
Check up a condition of the bottom rubber support of a radiator and if necessary replace them.
Installation
Installation is spent to sequences, return to removal.
Fill in cooling liquid.
