7.6. The fuel pump / the gauge of level of fuelThe prevention
The power supply system is under pressure. Before separation of elements of system it is necessary to remove pressure in system. For this purpose close a place of separation by pure rags and, being careful, smoothly unscrew connection.

On models with petrol engines the fuel pump together with the gauge of level of fuel (fig. 4.1–9) is established in a fuel tank.
The potentiometer and the float connected with it enters into a design of the gauge of level of fuel. At reduction of quantity of fuel the float falls, resistance of a potentiometer thus increases, pressure on the index of level of the fuel, located in a combination of devices, goes down.
The note
At installation it is necessary to use new linings, sealing rings and заглушку.
Removal
Before a detachment of the storage battery find out, whether there is at you a code of inclusion of a radio receiver.
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
Remove casings of the fuel pump / of the gauge of level of the fuel, located on the right side under a carpet covering of a luggage carrier.
Using the special tool 2012А, unscrew a cover 8 (fig. 4.1–9 see) gauge of level of fuel, turning it clockwise, uncover 8 and a spring 7, located under a cover.

Пассатижами take out the gauge of level of fuel 5 and disconnect from it an electric socket (fig. 4.1–10).

Disconnect an electric socket 1 from the case of the gauge of level of fuel (fig. 4.1–11).
Unscrew a hollow bolt and disconnect an auxiliary tube 2.
Unscrew a hollow bolt and disconnect a tube of 3 givings of fuel.
Disconnect a tube 4 returns of fuel.
Using the special tool 3242, unscrew a connecting nut 12 (fig. 4.1–9 see) fastenings of the block of the gauge of level of fuel / of the fuel pump.

Unscrew on some turns a bolt 1, but do not unscrew it completely (fig. 4.1–12).
Press downwards a bolt to separate the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump from a connecting payment of a fuel tank.
Completely unscrew a bolt.
Raise the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump and remove a lining.
For extraction of the gauge of level of fuel / of the fuel pump move it upwards, turning clockwise.
Installation
Installation spend to sequences, return to removal.

Before installation check up, that the tube of giving of fuel has been fixed by a clamp on a connecting payment (fig. 4.1–13). For this purpose it is possible to use a bulb and a mirror. If the tube is not fixed by a clamp on a connecting payment it is impossible to establish correctly the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump and a connecting payment it is possible to damage at installation.
Replace sealing rings of the block of the gauge of level of fuel / of the fuel pump.
Check up, that the electric socket of the gauge of level of fuel was from above and has not fallen in a fuel tank in the course of installation.
Establish the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump as follows.

In a starting position the hose union should settle down on the left side of the car (fig. 4.1–14).
At gauge installation in a fuel tank turn it on 180 counter-clockwise, thus the hose union should settle down on the right side of the car, and labels 2 and 3 (fig. 4.1–14 see) should be combined.
Press the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump downwards, thus the tube of giving of fuel of the pump will be pressed to a tube of giving of a connecting payment.
The bolt should be established easily and without special effort to be screwed up in a connecting payment.
After check of correctness of installation of the gauge of level of fuel / of the fuel pump raise it a little and establish new consolidation in a nest of a fuel tank.
Again establish into place the gauge of level of fuel / the fuel pump.
Establish a new sealing ring on tightening a bolt and check up, that the terminator pipe has been located in a bolt. Have in view of that the terminator pipe is established not on all models.
Establish and screw in tightening a bolt.
The special tool 3242 tighten a connecting nut of fastening of the gauge of level of fuel / of the fuel pump the moment 70 Нм.
Tighten a bolt the moment 23 Нм.
Connect an electric socket to the case of the gauge of level of fuel (fig. 4.1–11 see).
Connect an auxiliary fuel tube and fix its hollow bolt with new sealing rings (fig. 4.1–11 see).
Connect a tube of giving of fuel and fix its hollow bolt with new sealing rings (fig. 4.1–11 see).
Connect a tube of return of fuel.
Пассатижами lower into place the gauge of level of fuel and connect to it an electric socket (fig. 4.1–10 see).
Establish a spring and, using the special tool 2012А, screw up a cover of the gauge of level of fuel, turning it counter-clockwise.
Connect "a weight" wire to the storage battery.
