At installation it is necessary to use new самоконтрящуюся a nut (fig. 14–3).
Removal
It is necessary to replace a steering column at failure of the electric motor or the gauge of an angle of rotation (ESP).
To replace a steering column it is necessary only in gathering as its repair is not provided. Replacement of the lock of ignition is possible only.
Before a detachment of the storage battery find out, whether there is at you a code of inclusion of a radio receiver.
Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
Establish wheels for movement directly forward.
Remove a steering wheel and the switch of adjustment of position of a steering column.
Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove a decorative fringing of casings of a steering column.

Turn away screws, крепящие a decorative bottom overlay under the panel of devices from outside the driver (fig. 14–4).

Turn away screws and remove the bottom overlay of a steering column (fig. 14–5).
Disconnect an electric socket or a cable from the block of management of position of the steering column, located under a steering column.
On cars with an automatic transmission disconnect a cable from the lock of the lever of the selector, turn a key in the lock of ignition and remove a cable.
On cars with electric adjustment of position of a steering column disconnect electric sockets from servomotors of a steering column.

Using a cord passed through an aperture in the basis and an aperture in the top part of a steering column, rigidly connect among themselves column elements (fig. 14–6). It is necessary for prevention of separation of the basis and the top part of a steering column at column removal.

For transportation of a steering column without damages fix among themselves its basis and the top part by means of a plastic core and a clamp (fig. 14–7).

Unscrew a nut 1 (fig. 14–8) fastenings of the universal hinge of a steering column.
Loosen the эксцентриковый a bolt, turning clockwise, also take out it. Moving downwards, remove the universal hinge of a steering column.

On cars with an automatic transmission unscrew steel bracket fastenings of a cable of the lock of the lever of the selector, fastening bolts. A steering column (fig. 14–9) also remove a steering column.
Check of a technical condition
Check up a steering column on absence of damages and deterioration.
Check up smoothness and ease of rotation of a shaft of a steering column.

Measure distance and (fig. 14–10) between a mobile element and an arm of a steering column. The distance and should be no more than 0,5 mm. If the distance and more 0,5 mm, means, the steering column is worn out also it it is necessary to replace.
Installation
The new steering column is delivered in a transport condition: взиморасположение the basis and the top part of a steering column it is fixed with application of a plastic core and a clamp (fig. 14–7 see). After installation of a steering column on the car it is necessary to remove a clamp and a plastic core.
Establish a steering column on the car and screw in fastening bolts (fig. 14–9) see so that the steering column still could move.
Establish the universal hinge on a steering shaft, insert эксцентриковый a bolt, turn it counter-clockwise, establish on a bolt a nut and tighten its moment 40 Нм (fig. 14–8 see).
If elements of a steering column incorporated a cord, remove it.
On cars with an automatic transmission connect a cable of the lock of the lever of the selector.
On cars with electric adjustment of position of a steering column connect electric sockets to servomotors of a steering column.
On cars with an automatic transmission establish steel bracket fastenings of a cable of the lock of the lever of the selector.
Establish a casing and screw it.
Establish a decorative fringing of casings of a steering column.
Level relative position of a steering column and tighten bolts of its fastening by the moment 20 Нм.
Establish a decorative bottom overlay under the panel of devices from outside the driver and fix its screws.
Be convinced that forward wheels are established for movement directly forward.
Establish a steering wheel.
Check up, that the distance between casings of a steering column and a steering wheel made 3–4,5 mm.
Connect "a weight" wire to the storage battery.
Lift glasses electric glass lifts upwards against the stop. Then press all switches стеклоподъемника once again, at least for 1 second, in position of closing for activation of the block of management glass lifts.
Establish time for hours.
