8.1. The general data

The release system serves for tap of the fulfilled gases in atmosphere, prevents their hit even in a minimum quantity in salon of the car and reduces engine noise level. That the system of release of the fulfilled gases could work normally, it should be in good repair. The condition of system of release of the fulfilled gases influences also capacity of the engine and the fuel expense.
The system of release of the fulfilled gases consists of a final collector, a reception exhaust pipe, the central and back mufflers, catalytic neutralizer.
Elements of system of release are connected by means of carving connections or collars.
Notes
Always replace linings and self-locking nuts.
After service or repair of system of release of the fulfilled gases check up, that its details have been established freely, without pressure, with a sufficient backlash concerning body elements.

At installation of the ljambda-gauge 12 (fig. 4.2–1) it is necessary to put on its carving high-temperature greasing G 052 112 A3.
The connecting element in a forward exhaust pipe should not be bent more than on 10 , otherwise it will be damaged.
At installation of system of release the distance between forward pipes of the central muffler and a cross-section beam in a free condition should make 43 mm.

It is necessary to sustain strictly distance between exhaust pipes, карданным shaft, elements of a body and a beam of a back suspension bracket (fig. 4.2–24.2–10).

On front and all-wheel drive cars of a suspension bracket of a forward part of a forward exhaust pipe to body elements differ on a design (fig. 4.2–5 see).
For simplification of unscrewing grease nuts and bolts, крепящие system of release, high-temperature paste Liqui Moly LM–508–ASC.
Before repeated installation of elements of system clear places of their connection by an emery paper of the hermetic and rust rests.

Separation of the central and back mufflers
If separation of pipes of system of release is complicated, by means of the autogenous welding device warm up a junction of pipes and separate them.
Back and central mufflers are executed in the form of the uniform block, however it is possible to replace each of them separately.

For replacement only one muffler it is necessary to remove the block of the central and back mufflers from the car and to cut them on certain distance from the central muffler (fig. 4.2–11 and 4.2–12).

Connect new section of the muffler with old and establish a collar, having arranged it so that the bottom edge of a bolt of fastening of a collar settled down at level of a pipe of mufflers (fig. 4.2–13).

Alignment of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases
Alignment of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases spend on the cold engine.
Loosen the bolts of fastening of collars.

Move release system forward so that the suspension bracket of the back muffler has been preliminary loaded (fig. 4.2–14).
Tighten bolts of fastening of collars the moment 40 Нм.
